Dried Banana Stems are a natural botanical product which is left over from the banana harvest. They are dried and packed with a dessicant to maintain freshness. Banana Stems can be used in aquariums as a natural botanical similar to driftwood and leaves, it can also be used as a vase filler base layer for flower arrangements. When used in an aquarium, you can choose to boil them before use which will remove some tannins and allow them to sink faster, or you can add them directly to your freshwater aquarium. Banana stems will sink within a few days. Banana Stems are an excellent source to grow biofilm which is a great food source for shrimp and small fish to graze on over time. After a few months they will get soggy/spongey and can be replaced as needed.
